Pratapgarh, Mar 30 (PTI) Taking its probe to the doorsteps of former Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh, CBI today questioned his cousin and member of state legislative council Akshay Pratap Singh in connection with the violence in Balipur village in which DSP Zia-ul-Haq was killed.

Felt little insulted, humiliated standing before judge: Mush

Washington, Mar 30 (PTI) Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said he felt a little “insulted and humiliated” standing before a judge in a Karachi court, where he appeared to seek extension of his pre-arrest bail in a series of cases.

Musharraf, 69, who ruled Pakistan for about a decade, following a military coup in which he overthrew Nawaz Sharif, appeared in a court in Karachi for the first time in his life.

North Korea says at war with South

Seoul, March 30 (AFP) North Korea said today it had formally entered a “state of war” with South Korea and warned that any provocation would swiftly escalate into a nuclear conflict.

“As of now, inter-Korea relations enter a state of war and all matters between the two Koreas will be handled according to wartime protocol,” the North said in a statement attributed to all government bodies and institutions.

New Delhi, Mar 28 (PTI) Conceding to the demands of non-Congress Chief Ministers, the Centre has diluted the much touted NCTC with Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde exuding confidence that the anti-terror hub would see the light of the day during the Chief Ministers’ conference here next month.

Shinde said all the apprehensions of the opposing chief ministers have been allayed as the “operations” part has been taken out from the body.

Sobbing Sanjay Dutt says will surrender in time, not to seek pardon

Mulayam’s tirade: Congress taking people for a ride

Etawah (UP), Mar 27 (PTI) Amidst speculation that his party might withdraw outside support to UPA, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today launched a tirade against Congress accusing it of being “cheat and clever” and taking the people for a ride.

Addressing SP workers at his native place Saifai, Yadav said Congress always does things keeping in mind elections.

“First, the party waived farmers’ loan slightly and then the elections took place which saw Congress winning a convincing majority.

Chennai, Mar 25 (PTI) In further signs of fissures within DMK, party chief M Karunanidhi’s son M K Alagiri today skipped the crucial Executive committee meet, which is likely to take key decisions in the wake of the party’s pullout from the UPA.

Alagiri left for Madurai by a morning flight, sources said.
